Purpose of Unit Standard

This unit standard is for any learner to gain knowledge and handle diversity within different relationships in the South African society.
 

A learner credited with this unit standard is able to:

  • Identify aspects of diversity within the South African society.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of diversity within different relationships.
  • Recognise an individual`s role and responsibility in relationships.
  • Identify ways and techniques to form positive relationships.

In the context of this unit standard society may refer to any interpersonal relationships in cultural, social, family, community and work place contexts. This unit standard may be used as a core or elective within a GETC or any vocationally based qualification. It will also help to contribute to the full development of the learner and benefit towards social transformation in the South African society.

Course Content

The course consists of the following lessons:

  • Lesson 1 - People first.
  • Lesson 2 - We are all part of a whole, all unique!
  • Lesson 3 - The golden years.
  • Lesson 4 - Understanding relationships.
  • Lesson 5 - Conflict.
  • Lesson 6 - Relationships.
  • Lesson 7 - The rainbow society.
  • Lesson 8 - I am human. I have rights.
Assessment & Certification
  • Learners will write an exit exam through MWIE. Certificate of competence will be issued by Media Works.
Costing per Group
  • R7 920.00 group of 10 excluding vat. Or R792.00 per learner, excluding vat.
  • Excluded: Travel and Saturday overtime.
  • Exclude exam fees and certification at R100.00 per learner, excluding vat.
